Project Overview
As a product designer, I was tasked with designing a platform for Innopolis University that would create a professional community for their students. The goal of the platform was to provide a space for students to connect with each other based on professional interests and create groups to share knowledge and collaborate. The platform would also provide each user with a personal profile to showcase their skills and achievements.
Research
To start the design process, I conducted research on similar platforms and interviewed potential users to understand their needs and pain points. From this research, I identified key features that were essential for a successful platform, including the ability to create groups, a user-friendly interface, and personal profile customization.
User Personas
Based on the research, I developed user personas that guided the design process. Our primary personas were Alex, a recent graduate looking to expand his professional network, and Maria, an experienced professional looking to share her knowledge and mentor others.
Design
With the user personas in mind, I started the design process by developing wireframes and prototypes. I focused on creating a clean and modern interface that was easy to use and allowed for group creation and joining. I also designed personal profiles that would showcase a user's skills and achievements, and allow them to connect with other professionals.

After finalizing the design, I worked closely with the development team to ensure the platform was built on a scalable and secure architecture, with features such as group creation and joining, personal profile customization, and messaging.
Launch and Results
The platform was launched and marketed to the students. The user feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many users creating and joining groups based on their professional interests. The personal profiles were also praised for their customization options and ease of use.
Since its launch, the platform has seen steady growth in user engagement and group creation. Students have been able to connect with each other and expand their professional networks, leading to new job opportunities and collaborations.
